Education Secretary to Discuss Role of Education in Job Creation

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will discuss the key role that education plays in preparing American workers for jobs and boosting the economy during the headline interview at The Atlantic’s “The New Work Era” summit at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19. Duncan will be interviewed by The Atlantic and Time correspondent Amanda Ripley before taking questions from attendees at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

 

The event is pegged to a recent report from McKinsey & Co. that analyses the skills crisis facing the American job market. The forum will convene an audience of top-tier journalists, government officials and leading CEOs who confront daily how the “skills gap” is harming American workers, businesses and the country’s position in the global economy.
